A Reminder about Diary Entry Reminders

Diary Entry Reminders

For those of you that haven’t started exploring the Settings tab in CPT 3.0, you might not have noticed that we’ve added a reminder mechanism to help you collect timely pain information. This tool enables you to set one or more daily reminders which will notify you when its time to fill out a Diary Entry. In fact, the reminder will even create the Diary Entry object and present it to you with a single click on the notification alert.

We’ve put together a short video tutorial on the Diary Entry Reminders. Have a look and soon you’ll be creating your pain entries on a more consistent basis.

Another suggestion: If you’re having trouble tracking the exact location of pain such as specific ribs or vertebrae are hypermobile/ out of alignment, you can delete all the default pain descriptions (such as “burning”, “soreness”, etc.) and replace them with specific pain locations (such as “Rib 1 Left”, “Rib 2 Left”, “C3 Right”, etc.)
This will then track use the “Pain descriptions” to track the exact location of the pain, so the “Pain descriptions” report will display a histogram showing what area’s hurt most frequently.
I have found this helpful for prioritizing which joints need PRP or prolotherapy injections the most. It makes the “Pain descriptions” report more useful for me, particularly since the nature of my pain (aching, sore, etc.) doesn’t change that often so I don’t really need to track that information very much, but the exact location of my pain does vary a lot. I can and do paint the areas that are painful, but that isn’t as precise as a histogram that tells me exactly what area/ joint is most problematic.
Just a suggestion on an alternative way to use part of this helpful app.
Good luck to everyone suffering from chronic pain out there.
